Here’s a list of my work in progress (WIP):

Goal: Transliterate the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms using the Shavian script for English.

Petition: Ban the Rising Sun Flag from public use in Canada

Progress: 33%

Goal: The Rising Sun Flag, or the Japanese Imperial flag, is a symbol of the fascist atrocities Japan, a Nazi ally, committed in SE Asia in the past century. More recently, the flag has protruded in Canada, among white people and in schools, but it should have no place in our country any more than the Nazi flag does. The goal of the petition I am submitting to the House is to ban that symbol from public use, in the context of its fascist relationship.

  • 2018.11.21: The Rising Sun Flag removed from public view in Langley school following 10,000 signatories. Great move!
  • 2018.11.20: I am still looking for an MP to sponsor the bill before I start circulating it and delay it any further. I am also looking for signatories. Feel free to contact me if you would like to sign the e-petition I’ve prepared.
  • 2018.11.09: Same request for sponsorship submitted to MP Kwan, a voice of social activism in Canada, and sponsor of the Nanjing Massacre Commemoration Day petition. Alas, Ms. Kwan only sponsors bills from her constituents and politely declined to sponsor my petition.
  • 2018.11.09: Letter to my MP, Terry Beech, to request for sponsorship (rejected due to clerical conflicts).

Design a free font for the Veqilarxhi alphabet

Progress: 5%

Goal: Officially, the Albanian language is written using Latin characters. However, there is a native, 19th century script known as the Veqilharxhi or Vithkuqi Alphabet, developed by Albanian scholar Naum Bredhi, which Unicode has incorporated into a proposal(PDF) for official consideration. I intend to develop and release a libre font under the CC-BY-SA license.
